5 Fall Car Care Tips for Your Mercedes-Benz

It's officially the end of September, which means next month is Fall Care Care Month. As you may know, each season has its adverse side effects on your vehicle, especially in harsh cold or warm weather. This is why it is absolutely essential to prepare your beloved Mercedes Benz for autumn's cool air by performing basic maintenance procedures. Below are five vital steps to take to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape throughout the fall (and winter).

#1 - Inspect your brakes

Your brakes are of the utmost vital system to ensure you and your passengers' safety; without working brakes, your Benz will not be able to slow down or come to a stop. Don't wait until you notice the warning signs, such as squeaky brakes or longer stopping times, as your safety can be at risk!

#2: Test all of your lights

Before fall is in full swing, we advise that you give your Mercedes-Benz a good walk-around and inspect all its lights. This includes your headlights, brake lights, fog lights, etc. If one of the bulbs has gone out, you should have it replaced as soon as you can. Our certified techs would be glad to assist you with the bulb replacement!

#3: Check all your essential fluids

It would be best to monitor and check all your vehicle fluids, including coolant, engine oil, brake fluid, and transmission fluid. Besides having enough, you should examine to see if they display unusual characteristics, such as darkness, rust, or debris. Contaminated fluid will lead to performance issues later on, so it's best to get a fluid flush when needed.

#4: Inspect all your tires

Your vehicle performance all ultimately depends on the wear of your tires. When examining your tires, you should look for any holes, leaks, or unusual tread patterns. Treadwear can indicate how balanced the wheels are and how reliable the alignment is.

#5: Replace wiper blades

Some rainy or even icy conditions are to be expected as we head into the colder seasons. To drive in these conditions, you need a good pair of trustworthy wiper blades. Your windshield wiper's rubber sections should be intact and free of fraying. Bad blades can leave nasty water streaks that can impair your vision even more! So, you can never be too cautious by having them replaced regardless of their current condition.
